That enacting real change requires people to get angry, and that getting angry-and staying angry-is a lot of work. It reminds us that we only require the slightest push to succumb to the evils of fascism, and that resistance is a messy act that requires the cooperation of people with radically different ideologies. While almost all of what you do in The New Colossus revolves entirely around killing Nazis, the game aggressively centers itself on the why of it at all times. It’s premise-an alternate 1960s America where Nazi Germany won World War II and has taken over the free world-and the unapologetic way it goes about exploring it makes it a tempting game to be reductive about, even when that reduction ( fuck Nazis) is a compelling and relevant one.
